San Francisco isn’t new to graffiti, but lately a string of graffiti events has led to USPS mailboxes being tagged. Up and down countless streets there is graffiti plaguing mailboxes. Since these mailboxes are USPS, it’s considered federal property and not San Francisco. So now the problem arises of who cleans it up? San Francisco doesn’t want to do it, and the USPS doesn’t have the funds from the government to do it either. As of now there’s 2 federal workers to clean up 1,500 mailboxes, which isn’t enough to keep up with the rising trend of graffiti. Local residents have now started chipping in to clean it up in order to keep their streets clean.
